Uproar in Lok Sabha over IPL issue, opposition’s severe criticism NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League (IPL) issue has been out of control from the Indian cricket board and has reached the Indian Lok Sabha where the opposition severely criticized the ruling party for not taking notice of this matter.

Perhaps, IPL chairman Lalit Modi had no idea two weeks ago that the match of his league would be played in the Lok Sabha instead of any cricket ground.

It happened so on Friday when the main opposition party BJP demanded probe into Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel links to the IPL.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj blamed the government of trying to protect the NCP leaders and coalition in the IPL saga.

Various members of the house expressed their views on the IPL controversy after which the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 pm on Friday due to uproar over the IPL issue.

JDU chief Sharad Yadav demanded probe into the IPL affairs by a joint parliamentary committee. He also supported Sushma Swaraj's allegations that the Congress was trying to protect NCP and coalition leaders.

Menwhile, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee assured that he would convey the sentiments of the House to the prime minister. He also said that all the actions cannot be taken in a hurried manner.
