Pakistan: Afghan cycling team reaches PeshawarPESHAWAR: Afghanistan team of cyclists has reached here on Saturday to take part in the 15th Tour de Pakistan cycle race.

On reaching Peshawar via Torkham, the eight-member Afghanistan team was welcomed by Syed Azhar Ali Shah, president Sarhad Cyclists Association.

The team includes five cyclists and three officials.

The Afghan team will participate in the Tour de Pakistan cycle race, beginning March 1 from Khyber Road Peshawar.

Governor NWFP Owais Ahmed Ghani will inaugurate the Tour de Pakistan cycle race, which will conclude on March 13 at the Mazar-e-Quaid, Karachi after going through eleven stages.

Meanwhile, Nepal, Saudi Arab and Iran have regretted to take part in the Tour de Pakistan cycle race.

Sources said that these countries decided not to participating in the race due to security concerns.
